Whisked Away!

Hello all! I was at my desk today, working on typing up some posts, when I heard people downstairs.
I wasn't too fussed about it until I heard footsteps on the landing, I pushed my chair out and turned around just in time to see my bedroom door swing open...
...and for Thea to walk in!
I leaped up and practically flew towards her, pulling her into a hug. "Thea!" I exclaimed "What on Earth-"
"I'm here to whisk you away!" She said, throwing her arm in the air and doing jazz hands.
Once we'd chatted for a bit, Thea had taken charge of the situation and was helping me pack.
"If  you're staying with us, you can just borrow some of our clothes, mine should fit. You can bring your pyjamas though..."
"... and some clean underwear of your own" said Thea, packing everything neatly into my little case.
It was only when she was actually closing the lid that I was able to get a word in..
..."Hold on, hold on. Can't I bring some toys with me?" I asked, motioning to my Iwako figures.
"Fine." She said, sighing through a smile and disappearing from the room. I quickly grabbed my trio of hamsters and packed them safely inside my case.
Before I knew it, Thea was back "Dad says we have to get going now, you ready?"
"Almost!" I said, turning and grabbing my stuffed owl for company in the car.
With my suitcase in hand and my owl under my arm, I grabbed my shoes and hurried downstairs and out to the car. Off to my cousin's house I go!
See you then! I'll still be able to blog because my aunt has a computer in her office. Bye!

The Park With Olive!

Hey hey! The summer holidays are nearly over, there's about 2 or so weeks left for me and Olive is heading off to visit some of her relatives so she won't be around. I wanted to make the most of my leftover time with Olive so we decided to meet up at the park.
"So what are we going to do?" Olive asked.
I'll admit that I hadn't planned this far; I looked around for ideas, I didn't want to waste Olive's time!
Looking around, I saw a bright colour laying in the grass not too far away.
I hopped up and walked over to it to investigate.
Upon closer inspection, it looked like a ribbon! I had an idea so I picked it up and carried it back over to Olive on our bench.
"I've got a game we can play using this!" I said excitedly. Tying the ribbon around my eyes like a blindfold, I asked Olive to come up with a question for me about our surroundings.
"Hmmm", she mumbled. Looking back I think I put her on the spot a bit, but eventually she gave me my question. "How many other people are here?
"Easy!" I laughed, "we're the only ones!" I said motioning to the park around us, that I knew was empty. "Your turn!"
Whilst she was tying the blindfold, I looked around, I wanted a really good question! All of a sudden, I felt a weight on my shoulder...
Olive was asleep! All that packing must have taken its toll on her. I felt a bit guilty for dragging her out to play when she was so tired, so I let her sleep.
Bye all!

Post!

Heyyy! So today I was having a bit of a lazy day. I'd been lounging around on my bed, trying not to fall asleep, when I heard my mum call from downstairs.

"Heddy, there's post for you!"
I was quite surprised, I can't remember the last time I got post just for me!

I arose from my bed for the first time in what felt like hours and rushed downstairs.
I returned a few minutes later with a postcard!
I wondered who it was from as I pulled out my desk chair to sit down and read it.
The design on the front was a pretty pink with "Long Time No See" written on it in big swirly letters.
I flipped it over, it was from my cousin Thea!
It read as follows:
"Hey Heddy!
It's been so long! I'm not sure Margo even remembers you! You should see how she's grown, she's nearly as tall as me. Mummy says we'll be seeing you soon, but won't say when!
Love and smiles,
Thea xxx"
I got up and danced around the room, I was so happy to finally hear from my cousins! It was even better knowing that I could see them soon.

I stuck the postcard up on my wall, so I could look over at it and think of my cousins whenever I missed them.

I can't wait to see Thea and Margo again, I hope I see them soon!
Byesie bye!

Olive the Brave!

Hello peoples!
When I first told Olive about Ottile and her pets, she was terrified and despite countless lunchtimes of arguing about it, she kept her stance that lizards are "slimy and gross". In fact, the only way I could get her to go to Ottile's house in the first place was by promising her she didn't have to go in the half of the room that Toby's vivarium was in! Anyway, today I managed to get Olive to finally agree to meet Toby.
I could tell she was regretting it when I had to practically push her up the stairs to Otto's room, but there was no going back for her now! As always, Otto was super happy to see us, you can tell she loves taking every opportunity to show people her awesome pets.
I think everything was going too fast for poor Olive though, as straight away, Otto picked up Toby and held him for Olive to see....
...causing her to leap as far as she could away from him!
I could see this wasn't going to work, so Otto set Toby down and I decided we should try to reassure Olive first instead.
Ottile even handed over her fact book about reptiles, as she thought Olive might be more comfortable after reading some facts about them.
And after some convincing...
She did it! She held Toby!
Afterwards she even told me that she was wrong, and that lizards aren't slimy at all!
Bye bye my brave readers!

Helping Out

Bonjour friends! I heard that Otto's mum wasn't feeling well today, so poor Otto had to take care of her pets without any help! I decided to head over and see if there was anything that I could do to help. The second she saw me at the door she grabbed me by the hand and led me upstairs.

She told me that I was lucky, the only thing left to do was clean out Lentil's hutch. Otto put Lentil up and out of the way on her bed and (once she saw my surprised face) smiled and reassured me that she would tell me exactly what I needed to do.

She sat down on the floor and I sat next to her, we apparently needed to check if any of the bedding was dirty and replace any if it was. I helped Otto check through the bedding, hoping I wouldn't have to touch any rabbit poop. Gross!
Ottile must have read my mind, she threw a handful of the stuff at me and laughed playfully, telling me that I was lucky yet again and that it was all clean.

Then she got up and asked me to put all the bedding back in the hutch whilst she went to wash out Lentil's water bottle.

I did as I was told, picking up every last bit of bedding and putting it back where it belonged. Otto had already had a busy day, I didn't want her to have to sweep up her bedroom floor as well!

Otto returned, placed the now full bottle back in it's holder and picked up Lentil's food off the side, placing that in the hutch too. All done!

Otto sighed and said that she was exhausted. As I got up to leave I jokingly told her she should have a nap, she quipped back that she might just do that, and waved me off.

Always remember to help a friend in need.
Bye buddies!
