Halloween Party!

HelloOOooOOo! Happy Halloween! It took a LOT of begging, but mum let me have a Halloween party, which is great because Halloween isn't really a big thing where I live. I wouldn't have even dressed up otherwise! Can you guess who I am? It's a bit of a stretch because it was so last minute, but I'll tell you at the end of the post!
My room is fairly small, so mum let me have the party in the living room, but I didn't think it looked spooky enough, so I ran to grab some decorations and set them down on the coffee table.
I started off putting some pop-up ghosts by the fireplace ...
...as well as some hiding behind the sofa; ...
...I placed a glittery spider web on the mantel, ...
...hung up a "TRICK OR TREAT" banner ...
...and finished with a smattering of hand drawn bats across the back wall.
Just then, I heard a knock at the door and I rushed to the kitchen to get the snacks before anyone arrived.
I baked some last minute double dark chocolate chip cookies this morning, I didn't have any other snacks so hopefully my friends would enjoy them.
The second I placed down the cookies I heard someone walk into the room behind me, it was Olive! Or should I say, it was a pink frosted doughnut!
Olive's costume was perfect for her, lovely and sweet! I told her this and she laughed, she complemented my decorating skills (especially my banner) in return.
We were so busy trying to out-compliment each other that we didn't hear Ottile arrive, she snuck up behind us and shouted "Raah!"
Olive jumped behind me as Otto giggled and apologised. She said she guessed she should be saying "Hoot" instead of "Raah" seeing as...
...she came dressed as an owl! I loved her costume, it suited her very much.
I left my two friends as they debated whether owls say "Hoot" or "Twit-Twoo" so I could run up to my room and grab my laptop. Once I was back we all sat down on the couch to watch a movie.
I wanted to do a whole movie marathon but mum wouldn't let the girls sleep over and didn't want them getting home too late, so one movie would have to do and then the party would have to end. Nevertheless, I'd say it was a very successful Halloween!
BOO! Uh... I mean bye! Hehe, by the way, I was Molly McIntire the American Girl doll!

Belated Birthday Surprise!

Heyo! You'll never guess what I found out at school today! Apparently, Otto's birthday was over the summer; she even had a huge party! Olive and I didn't get to go because we were both on holiday. I was so upset that I missed it, but I was even more upset that I didn't get to give Ottile a present.
So, I came up with a plan! I had Olive meet me after school and told her my plan...
...then we got some supplies...
...and taa daaa! We did some drawings for her! The walls in her bedroom are very bare, so I thought she'd love to have something to hang up.

We walked the distance to Otto's house and her mother let us in. I made sure that we were both super quiet and then I pushed open the door and yelled "surprise!"
Ottile looked up from her book in shock, "Hey guys!", she said giggling nervously.
We explained that we were sorry we both missed her birthday, so we drew her some pictures to decorate her room.
"Oh," She said "I actually got a poster for my birthday, so my walls aren't bare anymore!"
"Uhh, we didn't know that." said Olive looking at me with worried eyes and flushed cheeks. Ottile laughed, "No worries!" she reassured taking the gifts and sticking them up next to her bookshelf.
She stepped back, "What do you think?"
Olive smiled and I told her they looked perfect. "Thank you so much guys!" She said, pulling us all in to a group hug.
Happy (belated) Birthday Otto! Bye guys!

New Year, New Uniform

Hey guys! It's Monday and for me, the first day back after summer! My school got a new uniform this year. It's all green, mum says I look smart but I think I look like a walking bogey!
I didn't want to be late on my first day though, so I headed out to the bus stop to catch the bus.
As I skipped down the road to the bus stop, I saw Olive all dressed up and ready for school too. I'm glad that I'm not the only kid in the area anymore, waiting at the bus stop alone used to be so boring!
Once she caught my eyes we laughed, almost as if we could read each others minds and see our less than happy thoughts on the new attire. She waved me over.
Olive told me that she thought I looked great, I looked at her wide eyed with eyebrows raised and we laughed again. She suited the colour more than me, but insisted that school uniforms never look good on anyone.
We chatted and laughed and caught up as we waited. Once we got impatient we took turns keeping watch to hail down the bus if it arrived. At this rate we were going to be late anyway!
See you after school!

Stories With Friends

Telling stories with good friends,
Bound to be fun with no end.
Spooky stories, curses, ghosts,
Rich families make a toast
To a group of brave young souls,
Who fought against the evil trolls.
Unicorns and creatures great,
"Girls, time to go home, it's late."
Our story isn't finished yet,
But there's no need to get upset.
Even though you have to go,
The tale continues, tomorrow.
Bye!

The Park With Olive!

Hey hey! The summer holidays are nearly over, there's about 2 or so weeks left for me and Olive is heading off to visit some of her relatives so she won't be around. I wanted to make the most of my leftover time with Olive so we decided to meet up at the park.
"So what are we going to do?" Olive asked.
I'll admit that I hadn't planned this far; I looked around for ideas, I didn't want to waste Olive's time!
Looking around, I saw a bright colour laying in the grass not too far away.
I hopped up and walked over to it to investigate.
Upon closer inspection, it looked like a ribbon! I had an idea so I picked it up and carried it back over to Olive on our bench.
"I've got a game we can play using this!" I said excitedly. Tying the ribbon around my eyes like a blindfold, I asked Olive to come up with a question for me about our surroundings.
"Hmmm", she mumbled. Looking back I think I put her on the spot a bit, but eventually she gave me my question. "How many other people are here?
"Easy!" I laughed, "we're the only ones!" I said motioning to the park around us, that I knew was empty. "Your turn!"
Whilst she was tying the blindfold, I looked around, I wanted a really good question! All of a sudden, I felt a weight on my shoulder...
Olive was asleep! All that packing must have taken its toll on her. I felt a bit guilty for dragging her out to play when she was so tired, so I let her sleep.
Bye all!

Olive the Brave!

Hello peoples!
When I first told Olive about Ottile and her pets, she was terrified and despite countless lunchtimes of arguing about it, she kept her stance that lizards are "slimy and gross". In fact, the only way I could get her to go to Ottile's house in the first place was by promising her she didn't have to go in the half of the room that Toby's vivarium was in! Anyway, today I managed to get Olive to finally agree to meet Toby.
I could tell she was regretting it when I had to practically push her up the stairs to Otto's room, but there was no going back for her now! As always, Otto was super happy to see us, you can tell she loves taking every opportunity to show people her awesome pets.
I think everything was going too fast for poor Olive though, as straight away, Otto picked up Toby and held him for Olive to see....
...causing her to leap as far as she could away from him!
I could see this wasn't going to work, so Otto set Toby down and I decided we should try to reassure Olive first instead.
Ottile even handed over her fact book about reptiles, as she thought Olive might be more comfortable after reading some facts about them.
And after some convincing...
She did it! She held Toby!
Afterwards she even told me that she was wrong, and that lizards aren't slimy at all!
Bye bye my brave readers!
